A Miami club set to host a star-studded Super Bowl party tonight instead turned into a crime scene early this morning after a wild shootout involving police broke out.

An argument between two men inside the Mia at Biscayne Lounge in downtown spilled out into the street around 4:30 a.m., according to police.

Police said it all started when one of the men pulled a gun on the other and shot him several times outside the club at 20 Biscayne Blvd.

An off-duty Miami Police officer who was working security at Mia saw the incident and opened fire on the gunman.

Police are not sure if the gunman was hit or not, but they said he fled from the scene.

“Unfortunately this was an incident where [the officer] feared for his life and the safety of the community,” said Jeffrey Giordano, with the Miami PD.

The victim of the shooting was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. He is in stable, but critical condition. The officer wasn’t injured.

Police are now searching for the suspect, described as a white male, about 5’9″. Police said he took off from the scene in a black 4-door Mercedes — possibly a C-230 model — and it may have damage to the window.

The victim of the shooting was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. He is in stable, but critical condition. The officer wasn’t injured.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Miami-Dade Crimestoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).

Diddy and Trey Songz are hosting an exclusive party at Mia tonight, with Biz Markie and Stevie J. performing.
